Ex-Hibs & Celtic ace Scott Allan 'wanted' by Lowland League side

Former Hibs and Celtic star Scott Allan could be headed for the Lowland League, according to a report.

East Kilbride are reportedly set to make an ambitious bid to take the classy midfielder to K-Park this summer.

Ex-Darvel boss Mick Kennedy was recently announced as the new manager of Kilby.

He will take charge as of next season, with Open Goal Broomhill boss Si Ferry assisting him at the Lowland League club.

And Lanarkshire Live reports that Allan is an early transfer target for the club ahead of next season.

The 31-year-old is currently at Arbroath in the Championship but has spent much of this season watching on from the bench.

It's also said that Kirk Broadfoot will join East Kilbride this summer.

The 38-year-old joined Open Goal last term but looks set to leave for the Lowland League outfit in the coming months.

It's said Kennedy also wants to persuade up to eight of his Darvel side to make the move with him.

Meanwhile, Ange Postecoglou has provided a fitness update on his Celtic squad ahead of this weekend's Scottish Cup semi-final.

The Hoops will take on arch-rivals Rangers at Hampden on Sunday as the Glasgow giants fight it out for a place in the end-of-season showpiece event.

The soon-to-be champions have encountered a few injury issues over the last couple of weeks, with the likes of Reo Hatate, Jota, and Liel Abada all spending time on the sidelines.

But Postecoglou has confirmed that all three players have a chance of making the powderkeg derby clash.
