Who’s the best quarterback in New York right now: Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets or Daniel Jones of the New York Giants?
Well, if you ask former Jets and Miami Dolphins executive Mike Tannenbaum, it’s Jones, who is trending up while the 40-year-old Rodgers is heading in the opposite direction.
“Right now, candidly, Daniel Jones is the best quarterback in New York if you watch the film,” Tannenbaum said on The Pat McAfee Show, via the New York Post.
“So Aaron Rodgers should worry about Aaron Rodgers. He’s 40 years old. He’s a skill-deficient player. He’s not the same player he once was.”
And neither is Jones. Both players are coming off serious season-ending injuries and are still trying to find their way as they re-acclimate to the NFL grind.
Jones has been running less this season, likely to protect him from injury again, although he rushed 11 times last Sunday in Seattle.
After five weeks, the stats are favoring Jones, albeit slightly.

Rodgers is going through some turmoil with the sudden coaching change while Jones and the Giants seem to be on more solid ground.
Both teams are 2-3 but the Giants are playing up (or down) to expectations while the Jets are not. Even owner Woody Johnson said that “we can do better” this week.
