Things change quickly in the National Football League. Just two years ago, Matt Ryan was the starting quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons. After being traded to the Indianapolis Colts in 2022, Ryan was released by the team this offseason.
Without another NFL gig on the table, the former league MVP took a job in the broadcast booth. When the Falcons take on the Commanders this Sunday, Ryan will be on the call for CBS.
Per team reporter, Tori McElhaney, Ryan was in attendance at Atlanta’s Friday practice.
No notable absences at Falcons practice today. Also, Matt Ryan is here watching practice. Catching up with Arthur Smith, Matt Schaub on the sideline. As a reminder, he’s calling the game with the TV crew Sunday. https://t.co/PN75jNu7uy

Despite being traded away by the Falcons, Ryan still seems to be on good terms with head coach Arthur Smith. It will be interesting to hear Ryan’s thoughts on his former team during Sunday’s game in Atlanta.
The Falcons are currently 2.5-point favorites over the Commanders going into Week 6. Stay tuned for the team’s final injury report following Friday’s practice.
