Ex Emmerdale star Louise Marwood spotted in new BBC soap role

An Emmerdale favourite surprised fans by popping in with a new acting royal in BBC drama Casualty.

At the weekend, viewers noticed former Emmerdale cast member Louise Marwood, 42, popped up in Casualty. As Emmerdale fans will likely recall, Louise, played Chrissie White in the ITV soap.

She played Chrissie from 2014 to 2018. Earlier in her career, Louise, enjoyed parts in Hollyoaks: Let Loose, The Royal and Law and Order: UK.

During her time in Emmerdale, businesswoman Chrissie was part of a number of big storylines. Chrissie was the mother of Lachlan White as well as the ex-wife of Robert Sugden in Emmerdale.

She was also believed to be the daughter of Lawrence White until 2016, but it came to light that he wasn't her biological father. In 2018, Chrissie's life unfortunately came to an end when she died in a fatal car crash.

In Casualty, Louise played a mum with two children who ‘accidentally’ drugged her son. This then saw the characters arrive at hospital.

When Louise left Emmerdale she spoke to Digital Spy about saying goodbye to the soap. She said: “I am very sad actually, because we have become really close.

“Myself, Ryan Hawley (Robert), Tom Atkinson (Lachlan) and John Bowe (Lawrence) all came into the show at the same time. And it feels like Emily Head (Rebecca) has been here all the time too, as we've become so close.”
