Former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has broken his silence on recent links to the Everton job.
The Toffees are reportedly monitoring Mourinho's situation at Roma as they look to replace the recently sacked Rafa Benitez.
As relayed by our colleagues at the Liverpool Echo, reports have suggested that Everton have switched their focus to Mourinho at Roma after failing with an approach for their former manager, Roberto Martinez.
Owner Farhad Moshiri is thought to be an admirer of the Portuguese boss, who has spent much of his managerial career at the top clubs in Europe, including Chelsea, United and Spurs in the Premier League.
He's always spoken highly about Everton, but unfortunately for the Toffees, it looks as though he'll be staying put in Rome - for now at least.
As cited by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Mourinho has emphasised that he is committed to the project at Roma.
“Right now I wouldn’t change my job here at Roma with another one," the Portuguese manager said.
"I gave my world to Roma for three years and I feel this is my project.”
Nevertheless, we've often seen Mourinho in this position before, and as someone who has never been keen on too long a stay with a club, another managerial move isn't entirely out of the question for the 58-year-old.
It would be a shock if he switched Rome for Merseyside in the coming weeks, but if Mourinho fancies yet another go at achieving something in English football, then we can't rule it out just yet.
