Ex-Celtic boss Neil Lennon lands Cypriot Cup and Europa League qualification with Omonia Nicosia

Neil Lennon has landed his first piece of silverware with Omonia Nicosia.

The former Celtic and Hibs boss guided his team to the Cypriot Cup after a penalty shootout win over Ethnikos Achnas.

Lenny's side were reduced to ten men from the fourth minute of the contest but they survived nearly 120 minutes of football to claim the big prize.

Victory also sees Omonia land a place in the Europa League next season.

The ex-Celtic gaffer will enter the competition with his troops in the third qualifying round.

Lennon is no stranger to landing trophies after winning everything on offer domestically with Celtic during his two spells as boss.

He was the first person to land a Scottish Treble as a player and manager after the Hoops defeated Hearts in a penalty shootout back in December 2020.

Lennon also guided Hibs to the Scottish Championship title during his stint in charge at Easter Road.

Now it is domestic success in Cyprus as he adds to his medal haul as a gaffer.
