The FA are continuing to investigate Jordan Henderson and Gabriel Magalhaes’ on-field altercation during Liverpool’s 3-2 loss to Arsenal last weekend.
The pair exchanged heated words after the Gunners were awarded a late penalty, with Bukayo Saka stepping up to score what would prove to be the winner at the Emirates. Gabriel would take offence at something Henderson allegedly said, with Granit Xhaka also clashing with the Reds skipper as a result.
Following the exchange, a complaint was made to referee Michael Oliver with the official then consulting with managers Jurgen Klopp and Mikel Arteta on the sidelines. He would include the incident in his match report, prompting the FA to investigate the incident between the two players.

In an official statement, the FA said: “We are aware of an incident that took place during the match between Arsenal and Liverpool . We are in dialogue with the match officials and will review the details of the incident."
As their investigation continues, here’s what we know so far…
Michael Oliver spoke to players again after final whistle
The Mirror have claimed Gabriel issued a complaint over something he heard and that both Henderson and the Brazilian defender shared their 'version of events' to Oliver after the full-time whistle. The report adds Oliver also held further conversations with Arteta and Klopp before sending his report to the Football Association as they continue their investigation in relation to this matter.
Meanwhile, when first approaching the two managers during the game, Oliver subsequently also spoke to the game's fourth official Andy Madley, who was seen taking notes of the referee's timeline of events, which would later be used if the FA decided to pursue an official investigation.
Henderson removed from media duties
Henderson had been pencilled in for post-match interviews after the game but was later taken off those duties following the altercation. Meanwhile, Klopp and Arteta didn’t comment after the final whistle, though would later comment when pressed at their pre-match press conferences earlier this week ahead of European duty.
FA review referee’s report
On Tuesday, Sky Sports revealed that the FA was reviewing the referee's report from Sunday's game and simultaneously gathering information from Henderson and Gabriel. Keeping in line with the FA and Professional Game Match Officials Board protocol, Oliver also spoke to both players after the match in what is the first stages of any potential disciplinary process.
Players give version of events to FA
The Times reported earlier this week that the FA is 'expected to interview all players involved in the flare-up', which could see Alisson Becker, Granit Xhaka and Roberto Firmino called forward to provide their account of the incident.
FA hire lip reader
The FA are set to work with a lip reader as part of their ongoing investigation as they look to work out what was said between Henderson and Gabriel.
New footage emerges
Gabriel and Henderson could be seen speaking to one another after the full-time whistle and the Brazilian's international team-mate Roberto Firmino was also in attendance. It is unclear whether the conversation between the duo was held in order to clear the air of any earlier misunderstanding over an exchange of words that had clearly angered the defender.
Gabriel was left frustrated by whatever the Reds captain has said, highlighted by a post-match recording that has later emerged via the Tasty Football YouTube channel . During the video, Henderson can be seen approaching the Brazilian defender after the full-time whistle before a firm handshake between the pair follows.
Liverpool's No.14 then approaches team-mate Roberto Firmino, pointing at Gabriel while talking to the forward.
The conversation continues with Klopp stood beside Gabriel and Henderson, who appear no closer to settling their dispute before the footage cuts away to Aaron Ramsdale and Ben White parading the pitch to celebrate their result.
Managers have their say
Klopp insisted the investigation would have no impact on Henderson’s performance ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League victory over Rangers on Wednesday, sharply insisting his captain was ‘fine’, though was clearly frustrated at being asked about the incident.
Meanwhile, Arteta backed Gabriel’s version of events when he was asked at his own pre-match press conference, saying he stood by his players’ account ‘100 per cent’ but refused to go into more detail.
“It’s something I don’t want to touch. It’s in the FA’s hands and I’m not going to get involved in that,” Arteta said. When pressed on whether he expects the investigation to rumble on, the Arsenal boss added: “I don’t know. It’s something that I don’t decide. I think timings are really difficult to predict. The FA is in charge of the situation and we’ll have to wait and see.”
