Clutch onto your boots ‘cos Australia’s version of the royal wedding is about to kick off. Here’s everything we know so far about Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis‘ wedding.
Months after announcing the birth of their baby boy, Jagger Mewis-Kerr, the football superstars are finally tying the knot! While the nitty-gritty of the wedding appears to be on the hush-hush, Kristie has shared some juicy info surrounding her marriage to Australia’s el capitano.
Who is on the guest list?
Taking to the Mewis Squared podcast, hosted by Kristie and her sister, Sam Mewis, the US-footballer revealed that the guest list features more than 100 people — unfortunately, not including me.
“Obviously it is a lot of people, I know people have a lot bigger weddings than that, but that’s a lot,” Kristie said.
“For me to wrap my head around talking to 120 people in one night is a lot and the things that worry me is that I’m not going to be able to give enough time to everybody, so that’s what I’m stressing about right now.”
Where is the wedding taking place?
As for the location, Kristie did confirm in another episode of the podcast that it’s set to take place in Perth, Kerr’s hometown, in a “beautiful” private home.
“We have been engaged for a long time… it will be two and a half years when we get married, so we saw the venue a year and a half, two years ago, and they’ve done so many renovations, it’s absolutely gorgeous, it’s everything we wanted it to be,” Kristie said.
When is the wedding?
Kristie revealed they will tie the knot on New Year’s Day, which is absolutely perfect IMO if you think about it.
You get to start the new year married to the love of your life, you start the year around friends and family, AND it’s another excuse to get lit after NYE.
Is Jagger Mewis-Kerr making an appearance?
Although he’s only a couple of months old, Kristie revealed that Sam (Sam Kerr that is, not Sam Mewis) will be walking down the aisle with the cute bub.
“I feel like he’s a little bit too young to have a role but Sam is going to walk with him down the aisle which is very, very sweet,” Kristie dished.
“That is going to be gut-wrenching for me, I will sob when that happens.
“He’s probably going to be wearing a little matching outfit with her, it’s going to be absolutely adorable so he’s just chilling for the ceremony.”
So far, that’s all we know about the incoming partayyyyy! However, alongside this exciting event, the AFC Women’s Asian Cup is looming, giving us more of that Tillies content we crave.
