Persona 4 Revival features a brand-new voice cast, like Persona 3 Reload, for both the English and Japanese versions of the game. Unfortunately, this means you won’t be hearing the voices of the original’s star-studded cast of Johnny Yong Bosch (Yu), Yuri Lowenthal (Yosuke), Troy Baker (Kanji), Laura Bailey (Rise), Erin Fitzgerald (Chie), Amanda Winn Lee (Yukiko), and Anna Graves (Naoto).

All story and visual changes in Persona 4 Revival

Persona 4 Revival is a full-blown remake of Persona 4 Golden. It means, in addition to the base game, you can expect to meet a new character, Marie, who has her own social link. There’s also a new dungeon named Hollow Forest, which is tied to Marie’s social link. Additionally, Golden features a new epilogue and ending, both of which should be included in Persona 4 Revival.

P4 Golden featured additional animated scenes, such as the ski trip, which will also be included in this remake. Revival takes it a bit further, adding even more animated scenes, such as the previously missing summer festival.

Lastly, expect enhanced visuals, updated UI, and new character portraits in this upcoming remake. Some side characters, like the Pharoh teacher, now have a portrait as well.

All gameplay changes in Persona 4 Revival

Atlus is making some big changes to combat in Persona 4 Revival. Perhaps one of the most exciting additions is the ability to Baton Pass during combat. If you don’t know, Baton Pass was originally introduced in Persona 5. It lets the player character pass their turn to another character after delivering a critical attack or weakness damage.

In P5, every subsequent Baton Pass increased the character’s damage output, with the third and final attack dealing the most damage and costing zero SP to execute. This opened up new strategies in combat, allowing you to deal weakness damage to multiple enemies via different party members in a single turn.

Other new combat additions include Send Them Flying and Prime Time, both of which are mechanics that are new to the series. Prime Time is slightly similar to Persona 3 Reload’s Theurgy abilities.

In this, a gauge appears that fills up over time during battle. When it’s full, you get to deal a series of consecutive attacks that don’t cost skill points and avoid enemy resistances. Moreover, Baton Pass is freely available, and you can finish it off with a “Series Finale” attack (similar to P5R’s Showtime attacks) with flashy visuals that deal maximum damage.

On the other hand, Send Them Flying is a completely new and hilarious attack that can send enemies flying, dealing collateral damage in the process. Dealing a normal attack to an enemy afflicted with a status ailment has a chance to send them flying. If a flying enemy collides with another enemy, it deals damage and spreads the ailment to them.

Persona Fusion makes a return, though we don’t know if Atlus is adding new Personas to the game.

Who is composing Persona 4 Revival’s soundtrack?

Persona 4 Revival’s soundtrack is composed by Ryota Kozuka of the Atlus Sound Team. He previously worked on the original’s iconic “Junes Theme” and SMT 4 and 5’s soundtrack.

Additionally, Shihoko Hirata has been replaced by Shiori Sasaki as the lead vocalist. She’s most notably known for her work in Lupin the Third Part IV. Atlus has also confirmed that new tracks will be added, one of which you can hear in the Persona 4 Revival pre-order trailer.

When can you learn more about Persona 4 Revival?

Atlus is holding a Persona 4 Revival Broadcast on June 18, 2026, at 4pm PT / 7pm ET. Expect a deep dive into the game’s story, characters, and battle systems.

Additionally, Atlus is holding a demo session, in which it will showcase the first thirty minutes of the game to selected applicants in Tokyo. You can apply for it here.
