Nicola Sturgeon delivered an update on the current covid situation earlier this afternoon (Tuesday, February 1).
During her briefing, she offered an update on the the omicron variant, and stated that "the situation we are in now is much less severe than we had thought it might be".
She also stated that there "are good grounds for confidence that we are again entering a calmer phase of the pandemic".
