Everyman’s outdoor cinema returns to King’s Cross this summer

Summertime may not have film fans rushing to the cinema — we need to make the most of the UK sun while we have the chance.

But, fortunately, Everyman Screen on the Canal is coming back to King’s Cross this June, allowing Londoners to catch a flick and soak up the summer vibes at the same time.

Everyman’s free, annual outdoor film and TV festival will run from June 22 until August 6, inviting Londoners to kick back on a beanbag and watch an exciting lineup of films throughout the days and into the evenings.

The screen is positioned over the canal, with accessible views from the Canal Side Steps, officially called the Ghat Steps, which are located just off Granary Square.

The full programme has yet to be announced, but films on the line-up include Elvis, Matilda, Top Gun: Maverick, Mamma Mia, and Casablanca.

This summer, Everyman will also be screening sporting events including Wimbledon, plus live events such as Q&As.

Alongside the movies, Everyman will be serving up pizza and side plates, plus wine, beer, and summer cocktails, so film fans can have the full cinema experience in the open air.

Everyman’s Screen on the Canal is free and unticketed, so film fans should turn up early for a chance to get a spot in front of the big screen.

The outdoor screen can be found at King’s Cross Canal Side Green Steps, Regent’s Canal Towpath, London, N1C 4PQ.

Alongside the outdoor cinema, King’s Cross is putting its signature twist on the classic French Riviera this summer.

Visitors to the area can enjoy British classics like sticks of rock, 99p ice creams, and family-friendly games alongside Regent’s Canal and the Granary Square fountains.
