A new mum says she's getting pretty "p***** off" at "rude" friends and family members repeatedly misspelling the name of her baby daughter, despite having already advised them of the spelling via text message.
According to this fed-up mother, she and her partner have given their little girl a name that has "several legitimate and well-used spellings". They've opted for the original spelling of the name, which she says is currently the second most popular version in the UK.

Much to her annoyance, however, this hasn't stopped acquaintances from making multiple spelling blunders, and she claims more than half of the new baby cards they've received contain the wrong spelling reports the Mirror.
Taking to Mumsnet, the exasperated parent explained, that the name itself "isn't particularly unusual", asking fellow users to "think Isabelle versus Isabel", as an example.
The spelling the proud new parents have gone for also isn't "made up or unknown" in her view, and is also said to be "completely phonetic".
She wrote: "Almost everyone is already spelling the baby's name wrong - over half of our new baby cards are spelled wrong. I've literally texted people 'meet baby 'Isabelle'' and right below they've written something like 'congratulations, 'Isabel' is beautiful' etc.
"I knew the spelling would be an issue going forward but I sort of expected people might be able to read what I'd written and spell it right the moment they were told the name.
"It's probably just my hormones, but am I being unreasonable to think it's quite rude not to make the effort to spell the baby's name correctly in the new baby card?"
One fellow Mumsnet user advised: "It's annoying but, as someone with one of those names, you just have to get over it, to be honest! Take account of intent."
Another commented: "I think it's fine to say 'just so you know, we decided to go for this spelling' the first time it happens - with a grandparent, I'd probably keep pointing it out."
