Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool will be crowned Premier League champions this season because of Virgil van Dijk.
Van Dijk has been colossal at the back for the Reds since joining from Southampton in January 2018. Since his arrival at Anfield, Liverpool have won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and their first League Championship for 30 years.
The defender is seen by many in football as the best in the world in his position. Such is his importance to Liverpool, the season in which he spent the majority of it sidelined, is the one in which his side struggled to secure a place in the Champions League.

And speaking ahead of Liverpool’s opening Premier League game of the season tomorrow against Fulham, Carragher has named Van Dijk as the reason as to why his old club will be crowned champions. The Bootle-born Kop icon has claimed the Reds look a different team with the Dutchman in it,
“Liverpool - because of Virgil van Dijk. Every time he's been fit and at his best Liverpool have got mid-90 points,” he told Sky Sports.
“Last season he was coming back from that cruciate injury. From Christmas onwards when he was back to his best, Liverpool looked a completely different team. If Liverpool get him at his best from the get go, they've got a great chance.”
