The NBA announced this week it will retire the No. 6 jersey on all 30 teams in honor of Bill Russell, who recently passed away.
Due to multiple players already sporting the No. 6 jersey, the NBA decided to grandfather any active player wearing the number. This includes Oklahoma City Thunder rookie forward Jaylin Williams.
Williams was drafted in the second round, 34th overall, of the 2022 NBA draft. The 20-year-old will be the final player in Thunder history to wear No. 6.
Let’s take a look at the full nine players who’ve worn the No. 6 number in a Thunder jersey since the team relocated to Oklahoma City in 2008.
