Leeds United supporters could be seen taking comfort in the World Cup exits of American duo Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson on Saturday.

Goals from Memphis Depay, Daley Blind and Denzel Dumfries dashed any USA hopes of a first World Cup quarter-final appearance in 20 years and saw Louis van Gaal's Netherlands side maintain their hope of glory.

Whilst fans would have, undoubtedly, enjoyed seeing two of this season's star performers excel on the global stage, it cannot be disputed that the return of all three of the club's World Cup stars to Thorpe Arch ahead of Leeds' Premier League return will be beneficial.
