Watch Everton vs Nottingham Forest highlights as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side climbed to second in the Premier League table after a 2-0 victory.
Forest’s incredible form continued after a tightly fought contest with few opportunities.
The only shot-on-target in the opening 45 hit the back of the net as Chris Wood scored his 11th goal of the season after 15 minutes.
A long ball forward from Morgan Gibbs-White played havoc with the Everton defence. Wood and Anthony Elanga then combined before the former lifted the ball over Jordan Pickford.
It was a brilliant finish from Wood who is only behind Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland in the Premier League scoring charts.
Any chance of an Everton fightback appeared to end following a costly mistake by substitute Jesper Lindstrom who lost possession after trying to take on one player too many.
Nottingham Forest quickly surged forward in numbers and Wood laid it on a plate for Gibbs-White to score Forest’s second just after the hour mark.
Everton were unbeaten in their four previous games going into this match. But they lacked quality up front against Forest and only recorded their first shot on target in the 81st minute through Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The Toffees had another chance in the 88th minute when Beto forced Matz Selz into a save.
Nottingham Forest had a chance to add a third in stoppage time but Pickford stood tall when Elanga raced through on goal with only the Everton goalkeeper to beat.
