A spokesperson for the Cesar Film Awards confirmed it was the real Carrey at the event, according to Variety.
After Carrey, 64, appeared at the 2026 César Awards to accept an honorary award, some social media users speculated that the person onstage wasn’t actually him, citing changes in his appearance, voice, and mannerisms, with some even suggesting, without evidence, that he could be a clone or impersonator.
