Everton Vs Brentford Preview, Prediction, Team News and Predicted Lineups

As the Premier League returns with a bang this weekend, here’s our Everton Vs Brentford preview, prediction, team news and predicted lineups ahead of Saturday’s fixture.

Everton Vs Brentford Preview

The Toffees have lost just once in their last seven games. But having failed to turn draws into wins, they have also won just twice during that recent run.

With a tough festive fixture schedule, fans are somewhat nervous about their upcoming games.

Sitting just three places above the drop zone, Sean Dyche’s side cannot afford to slip up. The Toffees have had one of the easiest starts to the campaign on paper, but have taken just 10 points from a possible 33.

Everton must navigate a run of games that sees them play Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City by Boxing Day.

They will therefore be targeting Saturday’s match with Brentford as an essential chance to take maximum points.

Brentford, meanwhile, have been scoring for fun this season. Thomas Frank’s side have 22 goals so far – more than league leaders Liverpool. Only Tottenham (23) have outscored the Bees so far.

But they have been equally goal-happy at the other end, letting in just as many as they’ve scored, with 22.

Only relegation-threatened Wolves have let more in, so we expect plenty of goals on Saturday.

Brentford are also among the worst travellers in the Premier League this season, losing all five away games.

With both sides needing a strong performance, this one is excellently poised.

Everton Vs Brentford Team News

Winger Dwight McNeil missed Everton’s draw with West Ham before the international break, while Jarrad Branthwaite withdrew from England’s sqwuad.

Both men have been training this week however, and should start on Saturday.

Albanian striker Armando Broja is nearing a return, but may struggle for game-time behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Also back in training is Youssef Chermiti, but he too is not fit enough to feature. Everton’s injury list also includes captain Seamus Coleman, who picked up a hamstring issue with the Republic of Ireland, along with midfield pair James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam.

Brentford’s prolific pair of Mbuemo and Wissa both pulled out of their international squads last week, but each seems fiot to play at the weekenbd.

However, Ethan Pinnock withdrew from the Jamaica squad and will be racing to get fit for the trip to Merseyside.

Rico Henry is getting closer to fitness, as are new signings Igor Thiago and Gustavo Nunes.

Everton Vs Brentford Predicted Lineups

Everton (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Young, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gueye, Doucoure; Lindstrom, McNeil, Ndiaye; Calvert-Lewin

Brentford (4-3-3): Flekken; Roerslev, Collins, Pinnock, Van den Berg; Norgaard, Janelt, Damsgaard; Mbeumo, Wissa, Lewis-Potter

Everton Vs Brentford Prediction

AlthoughBrentford have been woeful on the road this season, their first points must come from somewhere.

Everton have struggled both home and away, and face a horrible set of games after this weekend.

Unless the Toffees have a particularly top-draw performance, we think Brentford will come away with thew victory on Saturday.

Prediction: Everton 1-2 Brentford
