Demarai Gray starts for Everton as Sean Dyche shuffles his pack for the trip to Nottingham Forest.
Gray looks set to start up top as he earns a place in the first eleven for the first time under the new Blues boss. He replaces Neal Maupay. A second change sees Ben Godfrey start in the place of Vitalii Mykolenko, who is not in the matchday squad.
In another significant decision, Dyche has kept Michael Keane at the back for a second consecutive game, suggesting he has doubts about the James Tarkowski and Conor Coady partnership that had been a pillar of Everton's matchday line-ups under Frank Lampard. Coady is on the bench, alongside fellow centre backs Yerry Mina and Mason Holgate.

The side is otherwise unchanged, with Idrissa Gueye, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Amadou Onana all selected again in midfield. With Alex Iwobi and Dwight McNeil also starting, the evidence suggests Dyche is sticking with 4-5-1.
Meanwhile, James Garner is involved in a first team matchday squad for the first time since he started at Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup defeat in November. After building his fitness with the Under-21s, the midfielder has overcome his long-term back injury and is on the bench.
Starting XI: Pickford, Godfrey, Tarkowski, Keane, Coleman; McNeil, Doucoure, Gueye, Onana, Iwobi; Gray
