Everton are right in the midst of a relegation battle alongside a host of clubs at the foot of the Premier League table after defeat to Southampton at Goodison Park.
The loss was met with boos around Goodison Park, with the 1-2 loss coming after Lampard's side had taken the lead in the first half. The result against the Premier League's bottom side will be cause for huge concern for Toffees fans as they hope to stave off relegation for the second successive season.
With fixtures against both West Ham and Leeds United in the coming weeks, Everton will hope that they can claim some positive results to give themselves some breathing space above the relegation zone. However, they will also face a trip to Anfield on February 13 in what will be a crucial battle given both clubs' tough season.
