Everton's Conti Cup tie clash with Durham changed due to unplayable pitch

Everton’s Continental Cup tie against Durham on Saturday is set for a change of venue to the Marine Travel Area after Walton Hall Park was deemed unplayable.

The group A clash kicks off at 12.30pm with a reminder that all tickets purchased for the scheduled fixture at the original venue will be valid.

The Blues go into the game after winning 3-0 at Tottenham in midweek for the final action of the Women’s Super League for the year.

They had a successful cup run with a win and draw (beating Aston Villa on penalties) until falling to a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United for an abrupt end to their league cup hopes.

Meanwhile, the visitors come into the game seemingly well-rested from two weeks without a scheduled fixture. Last time out, they drew 1-1 with Bristol in early December as they challenge for a mid-table spot in the Championship.

Durham have performed stoically in the Conti-cup, winning both draws on penalties against United and Sheffield, but narrowly missed out by a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

But both teams bow out of the competition, unable to score sufficient points to progress further as only group leaders Villa head into the next stage.
