Everton player ratings as Richarlison good but five stars poor against Leicester

Jordan Pickford - 7

There was very little he could do about Leicester City's goal as the defending in front of him once again let him down. He produced some strong saves after that and his fast distribution did prove useful for his side on occasion.

Seamus Coleman - 5

Made a fantastic challenge to deny Leicester in the opening seconds of the match, but it was his man who found himself free to score minutes later. In the second period, he couldn't support the attack enough as the hosts still struggled to maintain strong periods of possession.

Yerry Mina - 7

A calm enough start on his return to action, but he might have been a little disappointed to have not been alert when Leicester took the lead. He did make some very important challenges to make up for that as the match went on though, and he perhaps crucially completed the 90 minutes.

Ben Godfrey - 6

Similarly to his centre-back partner he will no doubt be a little disappointed with the space Leicester attackers had to give themselves an early lead. However, when he was called upon after that, he produced some good challenges and interceptions to set Everton back on the front foot.

Vitalii Mykolenko - 6

Leicester's move to take the lead came down that left flank and it was all a bit too easy for them, although the left-back certainly wasn't the only man at fault in that sense. His delivery at the top end of the pitch wasn't as strong as it was against Manchester United.

Fabian Delph - 5

In the first half especially the midfielder struggled to have the same effect on this match as he did against Manchester United, as the visitors on this occasion played around him. There were improvements in the second period, but perhaps not enough.

Allan - 5

The Brazilian might have been very effective against Manchester United in this position, but he couldn't recreate it against Leicester. The visitors often bypassed the centre of the pitch and Allan was not strong enough in possession to justify his place on the pitch beyond the opening minutes of the second half.

Alex Iwobi - 7

He set the example for his side with his work of the ball, sprinting into every press as he desperately tried to inspire both his teammates and the crowd. The majority of Everton's good creative work again flowed through the Nigeria international, who's in great form despite the side's general struggling results.

Demarai Gray - 5

Cut a very isolated figure throughout the majority of the first half but did have an opportunity before the interval with a good effort that flew just wide. That, however, proved to be his only real contribution to the game and he was replaced midway through the second half.

Anthony Gordon - 5

Set up a good opportunity for Richarlison with the Blues' only real attacking play of the first half, but the rest of the game just didn't come off for the winger. Try as he might, he couldn't get his delivery right on enough occasions to cause Leicester much of a threat.

Richarlison - 7

He really needed to take the chance that was presented to him by Gordon in the first half, it was a bad miss. But how crucial could his goal in the dying minutes of this game be to Everton's chances of survival this season? Not his best display by a long shot, but he got the crucial goal - that gets him a few extra points by itself.

Dele Alli - 6

Couldn't get to grips with the match after being introduced from the bench until playing a crucial role in the equaliser.

Salomon Rondon - 7

Exactly what Everton needed for his time on the pitch. Strong in the air, a real presence up front.
