Everton player ratings as Abdoulaye Doucoure gets perfect score for stunning Bournemouth goal

Jordan Pickford 8

Stunning reflex save to deny substitute Matias Vina in stoppage time, his toughest moment of the afternoon up until then came when he was dragged to the turf by Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke in an off-the-ball incident after Everton had cleared their lines and while he tried to be proactive with his distribution, sometimes it was rushed, especially in the first half.

Yerry Mina 9

Made a crucial interception in first half stoppage time after Tarkowski had lost possession and was calm and composed at vital times when Everton needed him on his final game for the club.

Conor Coady 8

Recalled as a third centre-back in a change of formation, he was a vocal presence throughout while also being steady on the ball and making some crucial interceptions in the second half.

James Tarkowski 7

Got away with a mistake just before the break when David Brooks robbed him of possession but otherwise was in the thick of the action, putting his body on the line as required in such circumstances.

James Garner 7

Did well in the right wing back role, getting up and down the flank while offering a decent passing rang from wide.

Idrissa Gueye 8

Buzzing with energy, as well as zipping around in his usual areas, a couple of big chances came his way in the first half only for Mark Travers to tip one over the bar and then palm another one away.

Amadou Onana 7

Crucially provided the headed assist to pick out Doucoure for his goal, tried to get forward and support the attack and also found Gueye for his first half chance.

Abdoulaye Doucoure 10

I’m not allowed to give him 11 am I? Had the composure and technique to execute the stunning volley that broke the deadlock and give Everton the precious lead they required.

Dwight McNeil 7

His attacking outlet was tempered somewhat by being deployed as a wing back and having Iwobi in front of him but after a tough start in which Bournemouth got at him, he grew into the game and managed to deliver his fair share of crosses.

Alex Iwobi 7

Playing in an attacking midfield support role, nominally down the left, there was plenty of running as you’d expect but more perspiration than inspiration.

Demarai Gray 7

Worked hard leading the line and tried to take the game to Bournemouth’s defence with plenty of directness even though his team-mates behind him didn’t always play to his strengths.

Ellis Simms (on 85 for Gray) 7

Late cameo to add energy to the attack.
