Everton midfielder scores first senior goal as Jean-Philippe Gbamin run continues

Everton are continuing their battle to remain in the Premier League and will need every player to step up and take responsibility in the weeks ahead.

Frank Lampard's side are lurking dangerously above the drop zone, in what has proven to be a challenging campaign for close to every member of the squad. Anthony Gordon is one of the few players to have exceed expectations during a dismal campaign, though plenty of others connected with the club have caught the eye.

The Blues have sent out a number of stars on loan this season, each hoping to prove a point, in a bid to boost their chance of regular minutes. We have rounded up how each individual is progressing below.

HAVE YOUR SAY: Can the Blues beat the drop?

Lewis Gibson - Sheffield Wednesday

The Everton defender has only made six appearances this term for the Championship side due to sustaining a serious hamstring injury early on in his loan spell. Gibson recently returned to the first-team squad for matches against Burton Albion and Cambridge United, though missed Tuesday's meeting with Accrington Stanley.

Nathan Broadhead - Sunderland

Similarly to Gibson, Broadhead has seen his progress disrupted due to a hamstring injury. The 23-year-old forward had scored seven times in 17 outings before being forced off halfway through an EFL Cup quarter-final tie with Arsenal in January. He made his comeback earlier this month versus Charlton, though has missed the Black Cats' past two games.

Joao Virginia - Sporting Lisbon

Virginia has been limited to appearances in cup competitions for the reigning Portuguese top-flight champions. The 22-year-old goalkeeper has made a total of seven appearances, the last of which arrived in January.

Moise Kean - Juventus

Kean has featured a consistent basis for the Italian giants, who have an obligation to buy the striker at the end of his two-year loan period. He was limited to five minutes of action against Villarreal as Juventus crashed out of the Champions League yesterday evening, though grabbed an assist in a 3-1 win over Sampdoria last weekend.

Niels Nkounkou - Standard Liege

Testing himself in the Belgian first division has proven to be a worthwhile experience for the French defender, who has made a total of 23 appearances for Standard Liege this term. Nkounkou's latest outing was one to forget, however, as the Reds fell to a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of struggling Seraing.

Ellis Simms - Hearts

After making an impression at Blackpool last season, Ellis Simms has spent the second half of this season in the Scottish Premiership. The talented forward has scored four times in 11 appearances to date, with his latest strike arriving in a cup triumph over St Mirren last Saturday.

Lewis Warrington - Tranmere Rovers

Warrington has slotted straight into the Tranmere Rovers midfield as he looks to help Micky Mellon's side achieve promotion from League Two. The Academy star provided two assists in a 3-2 win over Mansfield Town last Friday, which he backed up with a goal on Tuesday night against Harrogate Town.

Jean-Philippe Gbamin - CSKA Moscow

Gbamin's presence is certainly being felt at CSKA Moscow, with the Ivorian winning all of his four matches for the Russian club to date.
