Everton linked with two strikers as reported target 'training alone apart from squad'

With the transfer window entering its final couple of weeks, Everton are still on the hunt for a striker after adding to their defensive and midfield ranks. Goncalo Ramos is the latest name linked with a move to Goodison Park.

According to Sport Witness, the striker has impressed during his time at Benfica, as part of a squad featuring now Liverpool player Darwin Nunez last season. Ramos has attracted plenty of interest from sides in the Premier League and Everton have reportedly thrown themselves into the mix.

Serhou Guirassy is another striker who is linked with a move to Everton - with reports in France claiming he has fallen out of favour at Rennes and Lampard could take advantage of that.

Guirassy is said to be 'training apart from the squad' while speculation over his future swirls. Manager Bruno Genesio is also quoted as saying: "In his situation, it’s better that we train him individually, he’s had a great attitude since I’ve been here. Whatever his situation, he has always left his feelings aside from the training camp. After that, top-level football is like that and I hope we can find a solution for him, so that he can develop more than he has here."

In terms of Ramos, it was reported that Wolves made a tentative offer of a loan deal to sign him for this season and then a £30m obligation to buy was included in the offer, but Benfica weren't happy with those terms.

Benfica are a club who know how to maximise the transfer value from their players - seen with Joao Felix's transfer to Atletico Madrid and Nunez's move to Liverpool this summer.

It remains to be seen whether Everton can make a move for Ramos, but 6ft 2in striker Guirassy could be more than a suitable alternative for the Benfica man.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin still working his way back to full fitness, Lampard has identified the number nine position as one that needs reinforcing if Everton are to strengthen from last season.
