Everton have reportedly joined Newcastle United in pursuit of Palmeiras youngster Giovani.
That is according to ESPN Brasil, who report that the Magpies have already sent scouts to South America to see him in action. However, the Blues are also said to be interested and considering making an offer for the 19-year-old forward.
The report goes on to claim that the player is under contract until 2026 and is protected by a €60million release clause. However, it also claims that an offer or around €15million could be enough to tempt the South American club to part company with their young talent.

When asked about his squad and the transfer market ahead of his side’s clash against Brentford, Blues boss Sean Dyche was honest about the situation facing clubs.
He said: "The market doesn't care what we think anymore, you either pay it or you don't pay it. You just pay what a club wants or you don't pay."
Abdoulaye Doucoure’s current contract is up this summer but the club have an option to extend that by a further year. Yerry Mina, Tom Davies and Seamus Coleman are three others who have their deals expiring at the end of the current season.
