Everton 'in the front row' for Tammy Abraham as price tag for ex-Chelsea star emerges

Everton are said to be weighing up a move for Roma striker Tammy Abraham.

The 25-year-old left Chelsea on a permanent basis ahead of last season and enjoyed a debut campaign in Italy to remember, scoring 27 goals in all competitions for Jose Mourinho's side.

Abraham has struggled to replicate such form this campaign, however, having scored a total of seven times in all competitions after making 35 appearances. Currently sitting in fourth place in Serie A, Roma will be hoping the London-born forward can reach the heights witnessed last year as his side look to secure a Champions League spot.

Should he fail to find 'the best version' of himself, Italian publication Gazzetta Dello Sport have suggested there could be a 'split' forthcoming despite the player being under contract for a further three years.

Describing Roma as a club that needs to make 'capital gains', Gazzetta claim Aston Villa and Everton are 'in the front row' for Abraham but would need to pay €75million (£66.5m) to bring him to Goodison Park.

Mourinho has publicly supported the attacker despite his reduced output, recently telling reporters: "There is only one Abraham that interests me, that is the footballer who plays for the team. He was the same one who was on the bench in the last game and who celebrated the goal under the curve as if he had scored. This is what we need. Sure, he can score more goals, reach last year's numbers but his contribution to the team is important for us."
