Everton are reportedly hopeful of sealing a loan switch for Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma.
The 25-year-old has been in talks with a number of Premier League outfits in recent days as he seeks a new challenge for the second half of the season. His former club Bournemouth, as well as Nottingham Forest and Southampton, are understood to have been keen on a deal.
But it is the Blues who are said to be in the driving seat to strike an agreement for the Dutchman, with the player himself having 'signalled' Goodison Park was his destination of choice due to the attraction of the 'challenge' currently facing the club.

That's according to the Telegraph, who have insisted PSV Eindhoven were also in the running to recruit Danjuma, but add Everton are the 'favourites' to win the race.
Danjuma helped his current employers reach the semi-finals of last season's Champions League, but has fallen down the pecking order this term. During the 17 appearances made in all competitions, this has been matched by a goal return of six.
Blues boss Lampard was asked about transfers at his press conference on Thursday to preview Saturday's crucial clash at fellow strugglers West Ham United.
He said: "We absolutely want to help the squad and make it stronger.
"I'm aware everyone's trying to do the same thing and teams around us are. We know we need more competition, maybe a more clinical nature about us. That's a reality we have to understand"
