Everton fans say same thing to Sean Dyche after Burnley defeat

Burnley were unable to build on their midweek win over Everton, losing to rock-bottom Norwich City this afternoon in the Premier League.

Goals from Pierre Lees Melou and Teemu Pukki earned the Canaries all three points at Carrow Road, leaving the Clarets now four points adrift of Frank Lampard's side. The Toffees, meanwhile, bounced back from the disappointment of their 3-2 defeat at Turf Moor by getting the better of Manchester United at Goodison Park and will now have belief they can string together a run of positive results.

For Burnley, they were unable to get the better of a Norwich side who were without a league win since February 5 and look destined for drop. Following Sean Dyche's comments about the Blues' lack of know-how to win football matches, it did not take long for Everton supporters to poke fun at his recent remarks.

ANALYSIS: Frank Lampard has found two 'undroppable' players as new signing 'arrives'

Speaking after Wednesday's victory over Everton, the Burnley boss told Sky Sports: "I've been down there, I know what it's like and every season there have been tough patches for us. It's hard to explain, but sometimes you sense that a team might have lost how to win a game. I said to them at half time 'I'm not sure these know how to win a game, away from home particularly."

Providing his take on Dyche's assessment of Everton after earning three points yesterday, Lampard responded: "And we do know how to win games! Sean didn't mean it in that way - I've spoken to him since. We've won more games than them this year! But I understand the sentiment, we've been losing games away from home and he had to motivate his team. I'd say similar things behind the scenes."

Everton fans have certainly not forgotten what was said after the midweek meeting at Turf Moor and saw the funny side of Dyche's half-time message to his players following their setback in East Anglia.
