Everton fans in North America send welcome letter to Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard’s appointment as Everton manager has received a ringing endorsement in North America with over 40 Blues fan groups in the USA and Canada getting together to send him a welcome letter.

Lampard, 43, spent most of his playing career in his native London at West Ham United – where his father Frank senior was a club legend – and Chelsea but after culminating his time in the Premier League with Manchester City, he finished with their Major League Soccer sister club New York City FC.

Writing to the Blues boss, North American Evertonians penned the following:

Dear Frank,

On behalf of the more than 40 Everton supporters’ groups in cities and regions throughout North America, we would like to welcome you to Everton Football Club.

We are excited to have a manager who was both a successful player and manager in England, while also enjoying success in Major League Soccer for New York City F.C.

American fans were especially excited to see your video message to them shortly after you were hired. It was a wonderful gesture, confirming again the club’s commitment to growing support and its brand in the U.S. and throughout North America.

Everton has always had strong ties to North America, and the club’s fan base here has grown by leaps and bounds in recent years.

This past July, thousands of Evertonians flocked to Orlando, FL when the club visited in the preseason, and hundreds of fans make the journey across the Atlantic each season to cheer on their beloved Toffees at Goodison Park.

North American fans share your vision for Everton Football Club. We ask that the team play with passion. That the players fight for the badge, for their fans, and for the players who came before them.

We are confident that you will deliver on your promise to bring the good times back to Goodison Park, and we will support you every step of the way.

We wish you the best of luck this season and for the future.

Up the Toffees!

Everton were the only Premier League club to play in the USA last year and are looking into returning this summer as part of their pre-season plans for the 2022/23 season.
