Everton’s pre-season will conclude with a friendly with Portuguese side Sporting at Goodison Park.
The fixture will take place on Saturday, August 5 at 3pm, one week before Goodison hosts the club’s Premier League opener against Fulham. The trip represents the continuation of the good relationship between both clubs - in recent campaigns Everton goalkeeper Joao Virginia enjoyed a spell on loan at the Lisbon side while Ruben Vinagre travelled in the opposite direction.
Vinagre returned to Portugal at the end of this season having struggled to make an impact on Merseyside, his campaign ending early due to injury.
Another friendly has also been confirmed by Everton, with a Blues team set to face Wigan at the DW Stadium on Saturday, July 22.

The latest fixture announcement appears to represent the finalisation of Everton’s summer plans.
Having travelled to the US last summer and Australia during the World Cup break, the coming months will start on the continent before essentially embarking on a tour of North West England.
The first team will travel to the border of Switzerland and France for a training camp next month. While there they will face Swiss club Stade Nyonnais in Nyon on Friday, July 14.
The following weekend, on Saturday, July 22, Everton will be represented in two games. One side will head to Wigan while an Everton XI, featuring Under-21s, will play Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park. The senior team will then travel to Bolton on Tuesday, July 25, Stoke on Saturday, July 29 and then host Sporting on Saturday, August 5.
