Everton boss Frank Lampard reveals what he expects from Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek

Everton boss Frank Lampard has admitted that he will be judging the Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek signings in "different" ways as the Chelsea club legend has outlined what expects from his team.

Lampard, has taken over from Rafa Benitez- a decision that has excited and rejuvenated what looked to be a toxic situation at the Toffees.

Deadline day was an special time for Everton and their fans as they managed to capture both Spurs' Dele Alli and Man United outcast Donny van de Beek on two very different deals.

Dele's deal was permanent whilst Farhad Moshiri was only able to make the Netherlands midfielder a temporary option at Goodison Park before they perhaps go back to the negotiating table in the summer if all goes well.

Speaking at his press conference on Thursday afternoon, the Chelsea icon outlined what he wants to see from his new crop of players who are low on confidence following a demoralising streak of form at the club.

He said: "First day feels like about three weeks ago now! It's been busy. We're here to lead the group but also serve them. To improve them every day and play a brand of football but most of all to improve results.

"With both Dele and Donny, they are both very separate cases. I just look at the player and look at the person.

"I had conversations with both - they are both very talented players. They are players that I have gone up against in very different ways in the past and was very impressed with them.

"And sometimes it's good to get a player who has a point to prove in a certain way because they come here with a hunger, a good hunger to show themselves.

"So in both their own separate ways, I trust in their talent, I trust in them as people.

"My job now is to set the right environment and to work with them and support them and show the natural ability that they have and we have to harness it."

We know now what Lampard is expecting to see in the two 'talents' the Everton board were able to gift them, but what can the former MK Dons youngster do for the struggling Merseysiders?

"Working with Frank and the amazing players here, it’s a very attacking way of playing football, that’s what I like to do, to be on the front foot, win tackles, get in the box and score goals," he told Everton TV.

"It is an easy place to be happy and an amazing opportunity to come and work hard and be on the pitch and help the team. That’s what I want to do all the time. I want to play and fight for the team and the club and I am ready to do that.

"The whole thing about being a player is learning and improving and being the best you possibly can. Having all this… amazing teammates, a great manager and very passionate fans, it is a great platform to express yourself and do well.

"I am very passionate when I am playing. It brings the best out of me when I play with aggression and on the front foot.

"Playing against Everton and at Goodison Park, I have seen that’s how the fans are – very passionate. They are incredible.

"It is not easy when you are on the opposite side but now we are working together I am sure we [Dele and supporters] will be a great team."
