Everton and Liverpool fixture outlook after UK snow as Storm Larisa on the way

Everton and Liverpool will be keeping an eye on the weather ahead of their Premier League matches this weekend.

The Blues welcome Brentford to Goodison Park on Saturday as they look to move clear of the relegation zone. Sean Dyche’s side are one point adrift of safety and in 18th place in the table.

Liverpool are in fifth place in the Premier League as they travel to face Bournemouth in the Saturday lunchtime kick-off. And both clubs are likely to be keeping a frequent check on the weather.

A number of matches across the Premier League, the EFL and the National League are at risk of being postponed due to the current weather conditions. Storm Larisa is causing severe snow and ice to hit the country, with temperatures also set to plummet over the weekend.

But are Everton and Liverpool’s matches at risk of being postponed?

The Met Office forecast for Liverpool from midnight tonight up to 12pm on Saturday currently has temperatures to fall as low as 0c. There is also a less than 5% chance of there being any further snow to hit Merseyside.

Should this forecast come to pass, Everton will be confident that the match at Goodison goes ahead as planned.

For Liverpool, they will be looking at the forecast at Bournemouth. The Met Office has it forecast to have lows of 3c from midnight up to 12pm on Saturday.

However, there is also a 50% of precipitation which is set to be light rain rather than snow. With this forecast, Liverpool will be confident that Saturday’s match on the south coast goes ahead.

In terms of travel, National Rail currently has train services between Liverpool Lime Street and Bournemouth running as normal. Last minute tickets for trains are still available, while some fans making the journey to the south coast may also travel on Friday night given the Saturday lunchtime kick-off.
