Pro Football Hall of Famer Drew Brees found himself in the news cycle on Monday night, just before kickoff of the Chiefs’ win over the Broncos to close out Week 1.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Super Bowl XLIV champion mulled over playing for the Broncos in last season’s AFC championship game. The team’s starter, Bo Nix, had just fractured his ankle in the team’s divisional round win over the Bills, and the only other quarterbacks they had on the roster were Jarrett Stidham and Sam Ehlinger.
