Donald Trump‘s approval ratings are in the toilet. Multiple polls put him at somewhere around 30% approval, with public opinion cratering amidst economic turmoil related to the Iran war, which has driven up fuel prices and the cost of living.
Now even some of Trump’s most passionate supporters are abandoning him. Enter the “Front Row Joes,” a group of die-hard MAGA supporters who have followed Trump around the country, attending each rally, and even sleeping outside the venues so they can snag front-row seats. But now, according to a Politico report, even they are beginning to walk away.
The report quotes “prominent” Front Row Joes Trisha Hope and Rick Frazier. Hope is billed as a “J6 activist” but says she felt “a dagger in my heart” when Trump dismissed concerns about Jeffrey Epstein. Hope says that after Trump angrily told a reporter, “Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy’s been talked about for years”, she felt a light switch went on and a veil lifted, and I saw him for who he was, and I have not been able to unsee it since.”

The war with Iran only cemented that, as despite his frequent insistence that the war is either won or about to be won, it isn’t: “He’s said the war is over 600 different times,” she said. “He tells us they don’t have a military, they don’t have a navy. They’re still blowing up things. It’s just all lies.” Hope said she’d now go so far as to support impeachment: “If we do lose the midterms and he is impeached again, I will be walking the halls of Congress in support of that impeachment.”

Frazier echoed Hope’s comments, and underlined that 95 percent of the group are currently “wavering” on Trump. He explained: “Epstein crimes and feeding the industrial military complex…those are big nos for me. He promoted himself as a no-war president. That didn’t work out.”
Trump himself praised the Front Row Joes at a Georgia rally, telling the crowd, “I’m hearing they’re very rich.” Frazier said the reality is quite the opposite: “This shows me how absolutely clueless he is on what these folks have sacrificed in order to support him. They DO NOT MAKE MONEY!! In fact it costs them a GREAT deal of money and time to attend. They drive sometimes all night to get in line, they spend money on flights when driving isn’t an option.”
What Trump’s increasing unpopularity means for the upcoming midterms is unknown, though even Republican analysts are quietly saying that they predict a bad night for MAGA. But, as always, we will only know once the results are in.
