Huge Nottingham Forest decision claimed to be 'highly unlikely'
Evangelos Marinakis is reportedly "highly unlikely" to dismiss Steve Cooper as Nottingham Forest manager.
Cooper has previously been close to the sack this season, before being backed by Marinakis and signing a new long-term deal back in October. But the pressure has remained with Forest sitting in and around the relegation zone, due to being unable to revert the situation to preserve their Premier League status.
According to The Telegraph, Brentford's 2-1 comeback is said to have left Marinakis "furious" after Forest scored the opening goal in the first-half. The Greek was also said to be "seething" with the substitutions, and Cooper's "management of the squad."
Nottingham Forest blow 'confirmed' as player ruled out for season
Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Dean Henderson will miss the rest of the season through injury, it has been claimed.
The Manchester United loanee had been recovering from a thigh injury and travelled to west London with the team for the game against Brentford on Saturday.
Henderson has not featured for Forest since the 2-0 win over Leicester on January 14, with winter signing Keylor Navas taking his place in recent months.
Nottingham Forest dealt another injury concern as Steve Cooper explains Brentford substitutions
Nottingham Forest will be sweating on the fitness of Danilo as they look ahead to the final four games of their survival fight.
The midfielder was forced off with what looked to be a hamstring problem late on in the Reds’ 2-1 defeat at Brentford. And with the visitors unable to make any more substitutions, they had to play the final minutes with 10 men.
Ivan Toney had already cancelled out Danilo’s opener by that point, and Josh Dasilva went on to capitalise on the Bees’ numerical advantage by scoring a contentious winner. Head coach Steve Cooper felt fatigue played a part for his players, following a “taxing” three-game week, and that was also a factor in the changes he made during the game.
Jermaine Jenas points out Joe Worrall argument in agonising Nottingham Forest defeat at Brentford
Jermaine Jenas has highlighted an argument between Nottingham Forest captain Joe Worrall and Cheikhou Kouyate in the aftermath of Brentford's equaliser on Saturday.
Steve Cooper's side led 1-0 at the West London club after Danilo gave Forest the lead just before half-time. The Reds were closing in on only their second away win of the season and a vital result in their battle to stay in the Premier League.
But with just under 10 minutes of normal time remaining, the Bees equalised after Ivan Toney's 82nd-minute free-kick went in off Forest keeper Keylor Navas. Josh Dasilva then scored a 94-minute-winner to leave the Reds empty-handed on the road yet again.

Nottingham Forest players 'let Steve Cooper down' in Brentford defeat
Jermaine Jenas believes the Nottingham Forest players 'let down' manager Steve Cooper during their 2-1 defeat at Brentford on Saturday.
The Reds were 1-0 up for much of the contest at the Gtech Community Stadium after Danilo's goal in first-half stoppage time had put Steve Cooper's team on course for a vital three points.
But the Bees struck back with goals from Ivan Toney and Josh Dasilva late on to leave Forest stunned in their battle to stay in the Premier League. The Reds will now drop back down to the bottom three after Monday night's clash between Leicester City and Everton.
Steve Cooper message falls on deaf ears as self-inflicted wounds haunt Nottingham Forest in defeat
After a defeat snatched from the jaws of victory, Nottingham Forest need to ensure their survival hopes do not go the same way.
In the space of barely 10 minutes at Brentford, they went from being on course for just a second away win of the season and taking a significant step towards safety to being toppled on the road again and heading for a return to the relegation zone. They can get out of trouble again, but time is running out and it will almost certainly require a change in fortunes away from home, as well as beating Southampton at the City Ground on Monday week.
What happened in the capital shows how quickly the tide can turn. From the joy and relief of victory on Wednesday night to the kick in the gut which accompanied full-time on Saturday. From limbs in the away end after Danilo’s goal to players dropping to their haunches at the final whistle.
