Cincinnati Bengals kicker Evan McPherson made sure he didn't miss out on a blockbuster Super Bowl half-time show.
Despite playing in the biggest game of his life, he was desperate to see the star-studded show featuring the likes of Eminem, Mary J Blige, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar and Snoop Dogg.
Whilst his team-mates prepared for the second half and ran through tactical adjustments, McPherson was filmed back out on the bench watching the show.
Ultimately, as a specialist kicker his role was the same regardless of what was said at half-time, but the fact he was not in with his team at half-time still caused plenty of discussion amongst fans.
"Evan McPherson really stayed on the field for the entire half time show… what a legend." one fan wrote on Twitter.
Another said: "I'm dying that Evan McPherson was on the bench watching the Half Time Show instead of being in the locker room with his team."
Another fan added: "Evan McPherson watching the half time show is my favorite thing about this game."
Just 12 seconds into the second half, after a Tee Higgins touchdown to give the Cincinnati Bengals the lead, McPherson successfully kicked an extra point.
And he then added another three points with a field goal a few minutes later, making it 14 successful kicks in the post-season.
McPherson headed into the game looking to complete a perfect post-season as a kicker and beat Adam Vinatieri's record for successful kicks in a post-season by making three more in the big game.
“You’ve really got to walk out there and know in your mind that there’s really no way you can miss the kick,” McPherson said in the run-up to the game.
“I think you probably learn from your misses more than your makes.
“Just knowing that that’s just one kick. It doesn’t define me. That the next one is the only one that matters. So just to fight through a little bit of adversity is always good for kickers.”
