Passengers evacuated from Glasgow Airport this morning have been waiting in freezing conditions for hours.
The airport terminal was closed shortly after 6am when a suspect item was found during a security search and police were called to the scene.
Some passengers have been moved to the nearby Holiday Inn Express, but many have been left standing in the car parks with no ground staff available to answer questions.

Passenger Mark Boor, 42 from Craigend, explained he was eating breakfast, enjoying the start of his holiday when he was told to evacuate.
He told Glasgow Live: "I was due to fly to Tenerife with my partner and two kids. Flight was at 8.15am. Arrived at 6am. When we arrived this morning we'd seen the fire engine.
"They let us in and we were having breakfast , during breakfast they told us we were getting evacuated and we came out into the car park.
"We'd just like to go on holiday. I'd like some information on what's happening. We don't know if our flight is going on. It would be alright if they passed on information a wee bit better. We were really excited. 11 day holiday. Just waiting about now and we'll see what happens."
Passenger John Martin, 60, was heading to Berlin. When he arrived at the airport everyone was outside so he was taken to the car park.
John said: "When we got here everybody was standing outside. Nobody was allowed to go upstairs. They gave us blankets and asked us to wait outside. The staff have been excellent giving us water and stuff. It's out of our control so you can't be upset."
Another waiting passenger Dom Green said: "My Melbourne flight is at 1.15pm. Got here at 10.45am. There was chaos when I arrived. My flight is delayed until 2.20pm now so I might miss my connection. I've been waiting for this holiday for 5 years, I'm gutted."
Another passenger travelling to Gran Canaria told Glasgow Live: "Flight supposed to be at 9.45am. We've been here since 7am. I've seen people getting cold, tired and hungry. We were told to go outside and then we couldn't get outside. We've not been given any further information on when the airport is opening. I appreciate it's a security issue but it's inhumane of airlines to keep people standing in the cold. It's wrong. People should be allowed to go home.
"All I want to do is go home, I'm fed up of waiting. I'm cold, tired and hungry. It's not the airport it's airlines that are keeping us here."
A spokesperson for Glasgow Airport said: "The terminal’s check-in and central search areas are closed due to an ongoing incident and passengers have been moved outside the building to our covered car park.
"We are liaising with Police Scotland on site and will provide a further update when we can."
