Eva Mendes shares glimpse of her London life after move to Hampstead with Ryan Gosling

Eva Mendes has given a glimpse into her and Ryan Gosling’s life in London after relocating to the UK from the US with their two daughters.

It was first reported at the end of October that the couple had settled in the leafy north London suburb of Hampstead.

The actress, 51, has now offered a subtle look at her surroundings, sharing a low-key Instagram video showing her walking along a quiet residential street with the family dogs, Lucho and Magic.

Dressed in a pale blue knit and coordinating long skirt paired with brown boots, Mendes appeared relaxed as she strolled through the neighbourhood. Posting alongside the clip, she poked fun at herself, writing: “When you’re testing how your fit walks but the important things in life remind you how silly it all is. Lucho & Magic por vida.”

In another post shared over the weekend, Mendes briefly revealed the front of her Hampstead home as she stepped outside to try on a selection of jackets, offering a further glimpse of her new London life.

Three-time Oscar nominated Gosling, 44, is currently in the UK filming the latest Star Wars film Starfighter. It is understood that the decision to base themselves in Britain also reflects a desire to step away from the political climate in the US.

Since taking up residency in the capital, Gosling has been spotted going about everyday life, including school runs and visits to local cafés. One social media user recently shared an anecdote about the actor holding a door open for them at a café in nearby West Hampstead, describing the moment as an unexpected highlight.

Mendes has previously spoken about stepping back from acting after the birth of the couple’s first daughter, explaining that the decision felt natural while Gosling continued to pursue his career. Speaking earlier this year on US television programme Today, she described the arrangement as a “no-brainer”.

“It was almost just like a non-verbal agreement,” she said. “He’s going to work and I’m going to work — I’m just going to work here. He went and he did his job. He just happens to be really good at his job. And he did it, and he came home.”

The couple first met while working together on The Place Beyond the Pines and married in 2022. They share daughters Esmeralda, 11, and Amada Lee, nine.

The family previously spent time in London last year while Gosling filmed Project Hail Mary, before briefly returning to California.
