The competition is being hosted by British musician Mika, Italian singer Laura Pausini and Italian TV presenter Alessandro Cattelan.

Ahead of the final the bookies have had their eyes on Ukraine as odds-on favourites to win the contest, the country currently in war with Russia are represented by the Kalush Orchestra with their song Stefania.

The final result is decided on the number of points received across participating countries - there are two sets of results from each country: one from a national jury and the other is from a public vote.

Performances were given by last year's winner Mäneskin and a medley by Grace Kelly singer Mika, who made a couple of blunders halfway through the competition.

What mistakes did he make?

The singer made two announcement mistakes, which happened within seconds of each other. The first error came when Mika was interviewing participants and he mistook the table representing Romania for Spain. Luckily the table representing Romania weren't too bothered and made it clear to viewers who they were.

The second error for Mika was when he announced Holland as the next country performing on the stage. The UK's commentator Graham Norton was quick to correct Mika with Poland and clarified to viewers that Holland weren't participating in the competition this year.

Fans were also quick to react to the presenter's mistakes, @alexr_241 said "Mika getting 2 countries wrong within 40 seconds #Eurovision #ESC2022"

@Imtherealanon said "Give Mika a script quickly. Then he has a chance of saying something right. #Eurovision"

@MilzamcuMika: “This is Holland!” Graham: “No it’s not… it’s Poland.” #Eurovision"
