Eurovision Song Contest 2023: When and how can I watch host city announcement

Excitement is building with just hours to go until we find out if it's Glasgow or Liverpool that will be hosting the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023.

Graham Norton will be making the announcement tonight, Friday September 7. He will also be joined in discussion on The One Show by Sam Ryder, who represented the United Kingdom at Turin 2022 with Space Man.

A shortlist of seven potential UK host cities has been whittled down to a head-to-head battle between Glasgow and Liverpool.

Glasgow's bid has been submitted with the OVO Hydro as the proposed venue for the contest, meanwhile Liverpool has opted for the M&S Bank Arena.

Where and how can I watch the announcement?

The host city announcement will be made on BBC One's The One Show, which will air between 7pm and 7:30pm tonight, Friday September 7.

You will also be able to view it on BBC iPlayer.

Rumours Glasgow is host city

One Eurovision enthusiast revealed why he believes Glasgow will host the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest. He stated that this is due to Olly Murs' newly announced 2023 UK tour.

The pop singer will go on tour next year in support of his upcoming album Marry Me. He will visit cities such as Glasgow, London, and Liverpool.

It is the Liverpool date that caught the attention of one fan. Murs will perform at the M&S Bank Arena on May 6, just three weeks before the Eurovision final, reports Glasgow Live.
