Eurovision's Rylan Clark worries he 'might die' while hosting the song contest

The Eurovision Song Contest is full of glitz and glamour as everyone brings out their best outfits. And one of the hosts of the show, Rylan Clark, is worried that his outfit might cause him to "die" at Eurovision 2023.

The former X Factor star, 34, is among the presenters in Liverpool this year as the UK hosts for Ukraine who won the competition in 2022. Appearing on ITV's Lorraine on Tuesday, May 9, Rylan opened up about his nerves ahead of this year's competition.

He admitted he will be wearing very high heels which he is scared will risk his life. "I might die. The shoes are that high," the TV star joked while chatting to Lorraine. You can keep up to date with the latest TV and showbiz news by signing up to the newsletter here.

Graham Norton will also be hosting Eurovision as will Britain's Got Talent's Alesha Dixon, Ted Lasso and West End star Hannah Waddingham and Ukrainian singer Julia Sanina. Alesha, Hannah and Julia will be hosting the semi-finals on Tuesday, May 9 and Thursday, May 11 and the final on Saturday, May 13, for which they will be joined by Graham. You can read more about the presenters here.

Former Great British Bake Off presenter Mel Giedroyc will also be helping Graham out on the night with his presenting duties. Other presenters covering Eurovision for the BBC include Mel Giedroyc, Scott Mills and Claire Sweeney and Sam Quek to offer a uniquely Scouse perspective on the show.

Although Ukraine won Eurovision in 2022, due to the current conflict and Russian invasion the competition is being held in Liverpool as the UK came second place with Sam Ryder's Spaceman. Julia said: "I’m so excited to showcase Ukrainian culture and creativity and to help put on a show to make my country proud. I can’t wait to get to Liverpool and meet the fans and the rest of the Eurovision family."
