Representing Moldova in this year's Eurovision Song Contest is singer Pasha Parfeni.
Pasha, 36, was one of the ten acts to qualify in this year’s first semi-final with his song Soarele şi Luna. He co-wrote the song with Yuliana Scutar and Andrei Vulpe.
The song’s English title is The Sun and The Moon and the lyrics are based around Romanian folk stories featuring references to spirituality and nature.

Moldova's odds of winning the contest were 250/1 ahead of the show, according to Ladbrokes.
Pasha will be a familiar face to some Eurovision fans, having previously represented Moldova in 2012 when he came 11th with the song Lăutar.
The performance for Soarele şi Luna continues with the same folklore theme as its lyrics, featuring women with horns and a pan flutist representing a mythical character featured in Romanian fairy tales.
Moldova first took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 and has participated 18 times in total. The country’s highest placement came in 2017 when SunStroke Project came third with Hey Mamma.
This year's Eurovision Song Contest kicked off on Sunday when the 37 competing acts took to a turquoise carpet welcome ceremony. Semi-final events then took place on Tuesday and Thursday night.
The grand final takes place on Saturday from 8pm, live on BBC One.
The lyrics in full to Soarele şi Luna
Below are the lyrics in Romanian as it is sung:
Codrule cu frunză deasă
Cred că mi-am găsit mireasă
(Așa, așa, așa, așa, așa, așa)
Nistrule cu apă lină
M-am pierdut și ea-i de vină
(Așa, așa, așa, așa, așa, așa)
I-am cântat eu doine multe
Pân-a vrut să mă sărute ea
(Așa, așa, așa, așa, așa, așa)
Păi, am cântat-o, am dansat-o
În tot felul răsfățat-o
(Așa, așa, așa, așa, așa, așa)
Soarele, Soarele, Soarele și Luna
Ne-or ține, ne-or ține, ne-or ține cununa
Soarele, Soarele, Soarele și Luna
Ne-or ține, ne-or ține, ne-or ține cununa
Soarele, Soarele, Soarele și Luna
Ne-or ține, ne-or ține, ne-or ține cununa
Soarele, Soarele, Soarele și Luna
Ne-or ține, ne-or ține, ne-or ține cununa
I-am promis miresei mele
Nuntă sub un cer cu stele
(Așa, așa, așa, așa, așa, așa)
I-am dat în a șaptea seară
Un inel cu piatră rară
(Așa, așa, așa, așa, așa, așa)
Soarele și Luna
Soarele și Luna
Ne-or ține cununa
Ne-or ține cununa
Soarele, Soarele, Soarele și Luna
Ne-or ține, ne-or ține, ne-or ține cununa
I-am promis miresei mele
Nuntă sub un cer cu stele
I-am dat în a șaptea seară
I-am dat în a șaptea seară
Un inel cu piatră rară
Soarele și Luna
Soarele și Luna
Ne-or ține cununa
Ne-or ține cununa
Soarele, Soarele, Soarele și Luna
Ne-or ține, ne-or ține, ne-or ține cununa
Soarele, Soarele, Soarele și Luna
Ne-or ține, ne-or ține, ne-or ține cununa
Soarele, Soarele, Soarele și Luna
Ne-or ține, ne-or ține, ne-or ține cununa
Translated to English:
Codrule with thick leaf
I think I found my bride
(So, so, so, so, so, so)
Dniester with smooth water
I got lost and it's her fault
(So, so, so, so, so, so)
I sang to him a lot
Until she wanted to kiss me
(So, so, so, so, so, so)
Well, I sang it, I danced it
In every way spoiled her
(So, so, so, so, so, so)
The sun, the sun, the sun and the moon
They would hold us, they would hold us, they would hold our crown
The sun, the sun, the sun and the moon
They would hold us, they would hold us, they would hold our crown
The sun, the sun, the sun and the moon
They would hold us, they would hold us, they would hold our crown
The sun, the sun, the sun and the moon
They would hold us, they would hold us, they would hold our crown
I promised my bride
Wedding under a starry sky
(So, so, so, so, so, so)
I gave it to him on the seventh evening
A ring with a rare stone
(So, so, so, so, so, so)
The Sun and the Moon
The Sun and the Moon
They would hold our wreath
They would hold our wreath
The sun, the sun, the sun and the moon
They would hold us, they would hold us, they would hold our crown
I promised my bride
Wedding under a starry sky
I gave it to him on the seventh evening
I gave it to him on the seventh evening
A ring with a rare stone
The Sun and the Moon
The Sun and the Moon
They would hold our wreath
They would hold our wreath
The sun, the sun, the sun and the moon
They would hold us, they would hold us, they would hold our crown
The sun, the sun, the sun and the moon
They would hold us, they would hold us, they would hold our crown
The sun, the sun, the sun and the moon
They would hold us, they would hold us, they would hold our crown
