Eurovision fans have been enjoying the Liverpool waterfront today despite some typical British weather.
Tonight, the second semi-final will decide which 10 acts will go through to the grand final on Saturday. There are 10 acts that have already qualified for the Grand Final on Saturday, including Croatia, Moldova, Switzerland, Finland, Czechia, Israel, Portugal, Sweden, Serbia, and Norway.
Despite torrential rain in the afternoon, Eurovision fans were seen dancing in the rain wearing ponchos with big umbrellas. Ukrainian musician kRUTb took the stage with her traditional ‘Bandura’ string instrument, and showcased her soft vocals.

Earlier on in the day, Sam Ryder stunned fans with an unexpected gig ahead of the semi-final. Sam geared up the crowds for a singalong, with many fans taking to social media saying they were in disbelief.
One person wrote: "And I stayed for when he left out the back. Like a mini private concert. You’re amazing Sam" as a second said: "BRO I LITERALLY RAN INTO SAM RYDER PERFORMING SPACEMAN ON THE STREET I AM STILL IN DISBELIEF LOL."
It wasn’t just Sam Ryder that showed his face in Liverpool today, with singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor also visiting John Lewis for a ‘party in the kitchenware department’.
Guests partied in the store to some of Sophie’s favourite tracks alongside a fashion show hosted by John Lewis personal stylists. Commenting on the unique performance, Sophie said: “We always end up in the kitchen at a house party anyway!”
Murder on the Dancefloor was a popular choice amongst the daytime homeware ravers, as was You To Me Are Everything by The Real Thing and Come on Eileen. Read our full review here.
