Eurovision 2023 champion Loreen considering move to the UK following historic second win

Eurovision winner Loreen has joked she is eyeing up a move to Livepool following her historic win at the weekend.

The Swedish singer, 39, went on to top the leaderboard after performing her track Tattoo at the M&S Bank Arena on Saturday.

Her win also meant that she became the first woman in the singing competition’s 67-year history to lift the trophy twice following her 2012 victory with song Euphoria.

Reflecting on her experience, she said: “In 2012 when I won in Azerbaijan, with all due respect, the energy was pretty tense there. And this experience in the UK, it’s a vibe. The audience was amazing.

She went on to say that she “loved” Merseyside and hailed the locals’ “creativity” as well as their “trendsetting” nature.

Loreen became the first female to win the Eurovision Song Contest twice (PA)

“I’m like, ‘My God, I need to get the f**k out of Sweden’”, she joked to The Sun.

She went on to the tell the publication that she had genuinely thought about relocating to the UK, having visited a number of times previously, but that her most recent trip made the option a real possibility.

Due to her winning, next year’s competition will be hosted in her home country of Sweden, and she’s really hoping that capital Stockholm will serve as the host city.

2024 marks 50 years since Swedish supergroup ABBA won Eurovision and, while the ageing musicians rarely make public appearances these days, Loreen is keeping everything crossed that the band could be tempted to appear for the event.
