A spokesman for RTE said: “The Eurovision rated 314,500 including RTÉ +1 with a 33% share.”

Last year, the Eurovision final drew in over 359,400 viewers on RTE One, which represented a 31.6% audience share as Irish viewers watched Italian band Maneskin win.
The song contest was cancelled in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but in 2019 just 285,000 people tuned in to RTE One to watch the show, which represented an audience share of 26.3% at the time.
Just ten out of 18 countries who performed in the second semi-final could go through on Thursday night.
Ireland finished 15th with Brooke’s song, That’s Rich, with just 47 votes, despite many believing it was Ireland’s best entry for years.
After the contest was over, Eurovision bosses released the scores of individual nations to allow for analysis.
Ireland gave Ukraine 12 points, the highest number of public votes, followed by 10 points to Poland, eight points to Lithuania, seven points to Moldova and six points to the UK.
Then Spain received five points, Norway got four points, three points went to Sweden, two points went to Romania, while Serbia’s bizarre hand washing routine was given one point.
Ireland’s jury voting panel gave Ukraine just three points with Spain topping the poll, followed by Sweden, the UK, and Czechia.
Ukraine won 94 per cent of all possible public votes they could have garnered, landing a whopping 439 points from a maximum of 468.
In comparison, they landed just 41 per cent of jury votes.
