Eurostar has cut ticket prices to the likes of Brussels, Paris and Lille to just £39 each way as part of a huge winter sale. The high-speed rail service has discounted fares from London St Pancras to a host of destinations that include Rotterdam, although unfortunately Amsterdam isn't included in the winter sale action.
The deal is running until Monday (January 16) for journeys between January 23 and March 24, with only some destinations available for £39. Bookings can be made on eurostar.com.
Eurostar advises trying a different station if you are unable to get a bargain fare. "Try heading to nearby Marne-la-Vallée instead," the rail company advises. "It’s just 40 minutes by train from the centre of Paris and it’s much cheaper to stay there too.
"Our best deals are available between midday and midnight on a Monday, any time on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and between midday and midnight on a Saturday."
Once in Paris, it is very easy to empty your wallet visiting many of the amazing tourist destinations in the City of Lights. If you want to save money on eating out then choose a self-catering villa or apartment during your stay. The Daily Star found one private room with breakfast included as cheaply as £25 a night for two on Airbnb.
