European leaders have expressed their congratulations to Donald Trump as it became evident that he was going to win the US presidency. The President of the European Union, Ursula Von Der Leyen, warmly congratulated Trump on his victory, emphasizing the close ties between Europe and the United States.

The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, also highlighted the enduring alliance and historic bond between the EU and the US. Leaders from France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Hungary, among others, extended their congratulations to Trump.

Italy's President, Giorgia Meloni, emphasized the strong alliance and friendship between Italy and the United States. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, a Trump ally, described the win as the biggest comeback in US political history.

French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz pledged to work towards a stronger Europe in light of the new context of a likely Trump presidency. Macron emphasized the importance of a united and sovereign Europe while cooperating with the US.

NATO's Secretary General, Mark Rutte, highlighted Trump's leadership role in keeping the alliance strong. Rutte expressed his anticipation of working with Trump to advance peace through strength via NATO.
