The race for the European Golden Boot went down to the wire, and a new winner of the award was crowned over the weekend.

The European Golden Boot award is handed out to the best scorer across all domestic leagues in Europe. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo collected the prize for fun during the prime years of their careers, but other star forwards like Thierry Henry, Luis Suárez and Robert Lewandowski have also claimed the honour.
