After months of fighting rumours and speculation that Euphoria season three was dead in the water, HBO has finally revealed when the beloved teen drama is going to hit our screens. Season three is officially dropping in April 2026, so you can finally stop asking your group chat if it’s been cancelled.
Yep, the release window has shifted from a vague “sometime in 2026” to a solid April date, which means it’ll drop a full four years after the season two finale.
That’s enough time to have enrolled in and graduated from Euphoria High, but not long enough to have recovered from Lexi’s (Maude Apatow) play. We’ll take the wins.

HBO confirmed the date in a new presentation that also came with fresh details from creator Sam Levinson about where the characters have landed after the five year time jump.
So yes, the time skip is still on, meaning we are well and truly out of the high school era and into the chaotic early adulthood chapter.

“Five years felt like a natural place because if they’d gone to college they’d be out of college at that time,” Levinson said of the time jump, per Variety.

Zendaya, who is an executive producer on the show, confirmed the time jump was happening back in 2024.
“I don’t actually know about much about what is happening,” Zendaya told EW’s The Awards podcast. “I don’t quite know exactly what the season is going to look like, but I do know that the time jump is happening.”
“I think, to me at least, it is and will be fascinating to see and understand these characters outside the context of high school. And how all the stuff that we saw when they were kids and were in high school affects the kind of adulthood they had and who they become in a much bigger world,” she added.
“So yeah, I’ll be interested to see what happens too.”
Levinson has now revealed where some of the key characters wash up after that time jump. “We basically pick up Rue (Zendaya) south of the border in Mexico, in debt to Laurie (Martha Kelly), trying to come up with some very innovative ways to pay it off,” he said.

“And then Cassie [Sydney Sweeney] is living in the suburbs with Nate [Jacob Elordi], they’re engaged and she’s very addicted to social media and envious of what appears to be the big lives that all of her high school classmates are living at this point in time.”
He added, “I feel strongly this is our best season yet… I will say that Cassie and Nate do in fact get married. I’m confirming it. And I promise that it will be an unforgettable night.”

The glow‑up (or spiral, depending who you ask) continues with the rest of the gang. Levinson shared that “Jules (Hunter Schafer) is in art school, very nervous about having a career as a painter and trying to avoid responsibility at all costs. Maddy (Alexa Demie) is working in Hollywood at a talent agency for a manager, she’s obviously got her own side hustles going. And Lexi is an assistant to a show runner played by Sharon Stone, who is just absolutely delightful and a true icon.”
Most of the original cast of now‑A‑listers is back for season three, including Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney and Colman Domingo, along with Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, Dominic Fike and Nika King.
They’re joined by a long list of newcomers, including Sharon Stone, Rosalía, Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth and Marshawn Lynch, plus a stack of additional supporting players.

Not everyone is returning, though. Austin Abrams and Algee Smith were left off HBO’s updated cast list while Storm Reid (who played Rue’s younger sister Gia) will not appear in season three.
Barbie Ferreira (Kat) exited the series back in 2022 and Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, died in July 2023 at age 25. The new season will move forward without those characters, which is going to make the already heavy series feel even heavier.
